Understanding NSDL (Protean) PAN Photo Specifications
While UTI uses square 213x213 pixel images, the NSDL (now Protean eGov Technologies) PAN card portal follows a rectangular passport dimension standard. Operators handling e-KYC or physical PAN applications must format photos to exactly 2.5 cm in width and 3.5 cm in height.
Additionally, the portal mandates a resolution of 200 DPI and a maximum file size of 50 KB. If either of these values is mismatched, the NSDL server rejects the upload during final document validation. Smart CSC Tool's NSDL Resizer is pre-programmed to handle these exact parameters automatically.
Why Use Smart CSC Tool for NSDL Forms?
- Fixed Aspect Ratio: The cropping box is locked to the exact 2.5:3.5 ratio, preventing any accidental distortion of the applicant's face.
- Smart Compression: Our system shrinks the file below 50KB while retaining facial sharpness so the photo looks clear on the printed PAN card.
- Zero Installation: Works directly in your browser on mobile phones, tablets, or desktop PCs without downloading external software.
100% Privacy Guaranteed: All photo cropping and compression operations run locally inside your browser using HTML5 Canvas. Your files are never stored or logged on our servers.
